Biography

Annie Nguyen is an Associate Adjunct Professor at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at the University of California, San Diego. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UC San Diego, a Master of Public Health from Dartmouth College, and a PhD in Public Community Health from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her broad research interests focus on the factors and interventions that promote resilient aging, particularly in the context of living with chronic conditions. She works at the intersection of HIV and aging, favoring qualitative mixed methods and community-based approaches. Annie completed her post-doctoral fellowship in geriatrics and gerontology at the University of California, Irvine, and has spent years on the faculty of the School of Medicine at the University of Southern California before joining UCSD. She is a Butler-Williams Scholar from the NIH/NIA and currently serves as the Executive Editor of Health Behavior Policy Review, as well as the immediate Past-President of the American Academy of Health Behavior. Annie is a proud alumna of the OASIS Summer Bridge program at UCSD Cross Cultural Center, actively engaging in research activities aimed at addressing community reentry for older adults leaving prison and the health limitations they face.
