Biography

Anoeska Buijze is an Assistant Professor in administrative law at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. She holds an LLM in legal research from Utrecht University awarded in 2008, and completed her PhD in European Administrative Law in 2013, graduating cum laude. Her research focuses on the interplay between law and various fields of science. In her dissertation, she developed a framework for understanding the multitude of transparency obligations in EU law, demonstrating how economic, political, governance, and ethical theories shape the development of the principle of transparency across various fields. Buijze has also participated in the postdoc CONTEXT project, which examined the interaction between legal rules and governance processes with the aim of realizing sustainable area development. Currently, her research at the Utrecht Centre for Water, Oceans, and Sustainability Law emphasizes energy law and policy.
