Biography

Anouk Lang is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English Literature at the University of Edinburgh. She joined the university's English Department in September 2014 and has previously taught at institutions including the University of Strathclyde, Queen Mary University of London, and the University of Birmingham. Dr. Lang holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, along with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Sydney. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her research centers on the intersection of digital humanities with twentieth and twenty-first-century literature. Anouk has been involved in various research projects that investigate the impact of digital tools on literary studies, including examining the applications of machine learning on large bodies of digitized texts. Her academic interests cover postcolonial writing and the use of geospatial technologies in understanding the dissemination of literary ideas and forms. She has supervised numerous PhD students and is also keen to mentor new PhD candidates in her areas of specialization.
