Anru Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics at Duke University. His research interests include statistical methodologies for analyzing health data, particularly in the context of electronic health records (EHRs). Zhang has developed novel imputation methods for structured sporadic missingness in EHR datasets to enhance downstream clinical applications. His work also addresses advanced computational approaches for dimensionality reduction in longitudinal microbiome studies and soft clustering techniques for sepsis phenotyping using EHR data. He has been awarded numerous grants including support from the National Heart, Lung, Blood Institute and the National Institute of Mental Health. Zhang earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015 and continues to contribute significantly to his field through teaching, research, and mentorship.
