Dr. Anselm Kamperman Sanders

Biography

Anselm Kamperman Sanders is a Professor of Intellectual Property Law and the Head of the Department of International Law at Maastricht University. He is also the Director of the Advanced Masters in Intellectual Property Law Knowledge Management program and the Academic Director of the Institute of Globalisation and International Regulation (IGIR). Anselm was born in Doetinchem, Netherlands, and studied law at Tilburg University, graduating in 1991. He holds a PhD from the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary, University of London, and previously worked as a Marie Curie Fellow. Anselm joined Maastricht University in 2000 and has since developed significant expertise in Intellectual Property Law, Media Law, Trade Commercial Law, and Competition Law. He is actively involved in teaching general IP courses needed for Dutch patent attorney qualification and participates in various consultancy projects, especially in developing countries. Anselm is a member of several editorial and advisory boards and has authored significant publications in his field, including on unfair competition law and competition law protection.
