Dr. Anshuman Vaidya

Biography

Anshuman Vaidya is an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he teaches courses on Investigation, Prosecution, and Defense of Tax Crimes. With extensive experience in government enforcement, Anshuman has worked as a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson, LLP, specializing in government investigations and white-collar crime. He has a rich background as a litigator, particularly in the areas of tax evasion and regulatory enforcement, drawing on his previous role as a supervisory attorney in the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he oversaw attorneys in the IRS Chief Counsel’s Office. Anshuman has served as a white-collar prosecutor in Illinois for a decade, holding leadership roles in both the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. His prosecutorial experience includes successful cases against securities fraud, mail and wire fraud, embezzlement, and identity theft. Anshuman began his legal career in the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, leading civil enforcement investigations across various industries. He has tried numerous cases in both trial and appellate courts.
