Biography

Anthea Butler is the Geraldine R. Segal Professor of American Social Thought and chair of the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research and writing focus on African American religion, nationalism, race, politics, evangelicalism, gender, sexuality, media, and popular culture.
