Biography

At Georgia Tech, Dr. Calise built the Flight Mechanics Control (FMC) program, which grew to include five faculty members and gained national recognition. He started a UAV lab and led a research program funded by NASA, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the Army Research Office, various Air Force laboratories, and corporate sponsors. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Calise has served as a consultant in industry areas such as helicopters, aircraft, launch vehicles, satellites, and guided parafoil flight control. He is a Fellow of the AIAA and is recognized as a national and international expert in areas including adaptive guidance and flight control, as well as adaptive control of flexible systems.
