Anthony Daniels is an ocular oncologist and vitreoretinal surgeon with training in ophthalmology, oncology, and public health policy. He currently sees patients in ocular oncology at the Yale New Haven Health system. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, as well as Radiation Oncology and Cancer Biology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He was the Chief of the Division of Ocular Oncology and held the position of Program Director for the Ocular Oncology Fellowship program at Vanderbilt. Daniels graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a major in molecular biology and went on to receive a scholarship for a master’s degree in public health policy from the London School of Economics. He attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, supported by a full scholarship. After completing his internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, he finished his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, followed by additional training in tumor biology at the Mayo Clinic and Memorial Sloan Kettering. His research focuses on drug discovery and development, having developed novel animal models for adult and pediatric eye cancers and identified new antineoplastic therapies. His extensive experience includes designing and running clinical trials across phases I to IV.
