Biography

Anthony Ebert completed a PhD in statistics from the Queensland University of Technology, part of the Australian Research Council Center of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers (ACEMS). He was supervised by Professor Kerrie Mengersen, an international leader in Bayesian methodology applications. Ebert has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Lugano, Switzerland, at the Università della Svizzera italiana, collaborating with the Harvard School of Public Health. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the National Center of Excellence for Molecular Prediction of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (PREDICT) at Aalborg University, Copenhagen, where he collaborates closely with Professor Tine Jess. His work focuses on advancing statistical methodology applications in epidemiology. Ebert is the author of seminal papers published in high-impact journals such as the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Journal of Statistical Software, Gastroenterology, and Nature Communications, with his research being featured on the front cover of Gastroenterology. He has delivered a plenary talk at ECCO and contributed to late-breaking abstracts at UEG. Notably, Ebert has developed new algorithms for Bayesian inference computation and is a highly proficient programmer; he is the author of the highly cited R package 'queuecomputer' available on CRAN.
