Professor Anthony Gordon is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine based at St Mary's Hospital and the Head of the Division of Anaesthetics, Pain Medicine & Intensive Care at Imperial College London. His research focuses on translational studies in sepsis, utilizing innovative methods to improve and individualize the care of acutely ill patients. He returned to Imperial in November 2007 after receiving the Clinician Scientist Fellowship award from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, and was awarded an MBE in the 2024 King's Birthday Honours. He is the UK Chief Investigator for the international REMAP-CAP platform trial, evaluating treatments for COVID-19 and has been instrumental in various trials examining alternative therapies for septic shock.
