Dr. Anthony Hernandez

Biography

Anthony Hernandez is an award-winning researcher and teaching faculty member in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has received several accolades for his contributions to higher education, particularly in the context of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs). His research interests include educational leadership and material hardship within higher education, where he has notably contributed through his work with the Wisconsin HOPE Lab. Hernandez has been recognized for his teaching impact by being nominated for multiple teaching awards at UW-Madison. He is also working on a book titled 'Critical Transformational Leadership in Hispanic-Serving Institutions' and has served in various capacities that enhance community involvement and educational equity. His educational background includes a Ph.D. and a master's degree in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as an undergraduate degree from Harvard University, where he graduated cum laude.
