Dr. Anthony Kammas

Biography

Anthony Kammas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Southern California (USC), specializing in contemporary continental political thought, radical political thought, and political ideologies. He obtained his Ph.D. in Political Philosophy from the University of Maryland in May 2005, following his M.A. in Government Politics and M.A. in Humanities Social Thought from the same institution and New York University respectively. His research is characterized by a focus on critical theory, examining figures such as Karl Marx and Friedrich Nietzsche, alongside themes related to revolutions and ancient Greek political thought. Kammas has published several journal articles and book chapters addressing these subjects, enriching the discourse on political myths and the implications of radical democratic thought. He actively engages in the academic community, contributing to undergraduate associations and promoting student involvement in practical and theoretical political initiatives.
