Biography

Anthony Lilley OBE, FRSA, MA (Hons) from the University of Oxford, is a prominent figure in the creative industries. He co-founded Scenario Ltd, a UK commercial theatre producing business known for innovative productions like Terry Gilliam's revival of Sondheim and Lapine's 'Into the Woods' which won the Offie Award in 2022. Lilley has a rich background in the creative industries, previously founding Magic Lantern Productions, one of the UK’s first specialist digital content companies. His work spans various media, producing projects for brands like BBC, Channel 4, and CCTV China, and he has won multiple awards including BAFTA and RTS for digital innovation. Currently, he is the Chair of the Board of Studio Ulster Ltd and serves as a Senior Advisor for placemaking specialists, Time Space. Lilley holds a personal Professorship in Creative Industries at Ulster University and has played a pivotal role in establishing significant funding programs for creative clusters. He has also received an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from Kent University and has held visiting professorships at Oxford and Bournemouth. In 2008, he was appointed OBE for his services to the media and creative industries. Lilley is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and has a background in coaching grassroots football.
