Biography

Tony MacLean is a colorectal surgeon and Clinical Professor at the University of Calgary. He serves as the President of the Canadian Society of Colon Rectal Surgeons and leads the Royal College Examination Committee for General Surgery. His clinical focus includes colorectal oncology surgery and minimally invasive techniques, with an emphasis on improving the quality of care for colorectal patients. With a robust academic background supported by degrees in Biological Sciences and Medicine from Dalhousie University, he has a strong interest in the evolving practices of colorectal surgery and patient care enhancements.
