Biography

Anthony D. Ong is a professor in the Department of Psychology at Cornell University and the founding director of the Center for Integrative Developmental Science. He received his Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the University of Southern California and completed his postdoctoral training in adult development and aging at the University of Notre Dame. His research examines the dynamic mechanisms that shape vulnerability and adaptation across the lifespan, integrating perspectives from affective science, developmental psychology, and behavioral medicine to clarify the psychological, social, and biological processes that influence health and well-being. He is currently on sabbatical for the 2025–2026 academic year as a visiting faculty member in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Harvard University.
