Dr. Anthony Tomassoni

Biography

Anthony J. Tomassoni, M.D., M.S, FACEP, FACMT practices and teaches Emergency Medicine and Toxicology at Yale University. He received a B.A. in Science Education and an M.S. in Human Biochemistry. Before entering medicine, he taught basic sciences and computer applications to gifted students. He earned his MD from UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine and a fellowship in Medical Toxicology at the University of Cincinnati. Tomassoni served as an EMS medical director and flight physician for five years, contributing to the growth of the Northern New England Poison Center. He is passionate about medical education, especially in medical simulation and disaster medicine, advocating for injury prevention and effective medical responses. His role as Medical Director at Yale's Office of Emergency Preparedness includes developing guidelines for chemical and radiological emergencies. He has published numerous scientific papers and contributed to toxicology texts. Tony received several prestigious awards for teaching and has been an active member of various emergency response teams and advisory committees.
