Antoine Flahault is an Honorary Professor at the University of Geneva and the former founding director of the Institute of Global Health. He was appointed a full professor in public health in 2002 and has served as the founding director of the French School of Public Health from 2007 to 2012. In January 2014, he became a full professor in public health at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva, where he has been instrumental in the development of the Institute of Global Health, which he led until September 2025. He is also a full professor in planetary health at the University Paris Cité in France and was elected Dean of the Swiss School of Public Health in Zürich for the term 2023-2025. Flahault is the president of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region and serves as the co-director of the European Academic Global Health Alliance. He has conducted significant research in mathematical modeling of communicable diseases and chaired a collaborative center for electronic disease surveillance. His contributions include coordinating research on Chikungunya in the Indian Ocean, which earned him the Inserm Prize in 2006, and he was a scientific curator for a major exhibition on epidemic diseases at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Paris.
