Biography

Antoinette (Toni) B. Coe, PharmD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and an affiliate faculty member with the Center to Accelerate Population Research in Alzheimer’s. She earned her PharmD from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy in 2009, followed by a PGY-1 Community-Based Pharmacy Practice Residency at VCU in 2010. Coe completed her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at VCU in 2015 and underwent post-doctoral training at the University of Michigan from 2016 to 2018 as part of the Clinician Scholars program. Her research is focused on improving transitions of care and ensuring safe, effective medication use among older adults, particularly those with dementia or cognitive impairment. Coe's work examines the uptake and effectiveness of Medicare Part D Medication Therapy Management while exploring community-based strategies to enhance interprofessional care models aimed at preventing medication-related issues during care transitions. Her research has been funded by multiple organizations, including the National Institutes of Health and the American Pharmacists Association. Coe has received numerous awards recognizing her contributions to the field, including fellowships and recognitions from prestigious institutions.
