Dr. Anton Borell

Biography

Anton Borell's research focuses on the role of accounting in constructing, integrating, and disintegrating welfare markets. He conducts empirical fieldwork within the Swedish compulsory school setting. Anton currently teaches accounting at Stockholm Business School, at both bachelor and master's levels, as well as in the Principal Education Program. His PhD dissertation, titled "In Competing Ideals: Relationships Accounting, NPM, Welfare," was funded by the prestigious Wallander Scholarship, supporting eminent researchers in completing their PhDs. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Control and a Master of Science in Accounting from Stockholm Business School. Anton teaches courses in Management Accounting & Financial Reporting, demonstrating his involvement in various educational programs, including Red-I, ES-II, FIN-I, LOM, and SOS, with a focus on topics such as performance management & measurement, financial accounting, public sector operations, institutional complexity, and new public management in Swedish schools.
