Biography

Anton Frisk Kockum is an Associate Professor in Applied Quantum Physics at Chalmers University of Technology. He works on various aspects of quantum optics and quantum information, focusing on circuit quantum electrodynamics, ultrastrong light-matter coupling, quantum acoustics, and quantum machine learning. Anton obtained his Ph.D. in physics from Chalmers University of Technology in 2014. Following his doctoral studies, he moved to Japan, where he served as a postdoctoral researcher in Franco Nori's group at RIKEN, supported by a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship. In 2018, he returned to Sweden and took on a permanent position as a researcher at the Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology. His research primarily involves theoretical projects aimed at advancing the understanding of quantum computers and the development of programs to run on these computers.
