Dr. Antonio Del Rio Chanona

Biography

Antonio Del Rio Chanona is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London, specializing in Optimization and Machine Learning for Process Systems Engineering. His research focuses on developing and applying computer algorithms in areas such as optimization, machine learning, large language models, and reinforcement learning within engineering systems. Additionally, he investigates bioprocess control, optimization, and scale-up in applied contexts. Del Rio Chanona holds a PhD from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge and an undergraduate degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He is also the Co-Director of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Generation Synthesis & Reaction Technology (rEaCt).
