Biography

Antonio Feros teaches and writes about politics, culture, and ethnic relations within the early modern Spanish Empire and modern Spanish history. His recent publication, 'Speaking Spain: Evolution of Race and Nation in the Hispanic World', analyzes long-term debates surrounding race and nation from the late 15th century to the early 19th century. Feros has collaborated with notable scholars like Pedro Cardim and Fernando Bouza, co-editing 'Iberian World, 1450–1820'. He is currently developing a two-volume history of contemporary Spain, examining the impact of the Civil War and the Franco regime's institutionalization of dictatorship.
