Biography

Antonio Marzal is a Professor of Law at the School of Law, University of Glasgow, where he joined in 2018. Before that, he was a Lecturer at Sorbonne Law School from 2015 to 2018, where he directed a dual degree program between French and Spanish law and served as an external lecturer at Sciences Po Law School. His impressive academic journey includes being a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence and working as an associate lawyer in an international arbitration law firm in Paris. Antonio completed his law degree at ESADE Law School and earned his master's in private international law from Sorbonne. He defended his PhD at Sorbonne in October 2013, and his doctoral research was recognized with several awards, including the André Isoré grand award. He has also published extensively in the field of international investment law and has been awarded grants, including a Leverhulme Research Fellowship. Antonio's research focuses on international investment law, international arbitration, and related fields. He has also served as a visiting scholar in various institutions and has supervised numerous PhD candidates in topics related to arbitration and investment law.
