Biography

Antonios Tzanakopoulos is a Professor of Public International Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford and a Fellow in Law at St Anne's College. He has taught at several universities including Paris II–Assas, Paris X–Nanterre, King’s College London, University of Glasgow, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has also delivered special courses at the Xiamen Academy of International Law and has been invited to teach at The Hague Academy of International Law. Antonios holds degrees from the University of Athens, New York University, and the University of Oxford. He is a recognized expert in Public International Law and has published extensively, including books on Security Council disobedience and international dispute settlement. His research interests span across multiple areas of international law, including state responsibility, international investment law, and the law of the sea. In addition to his academic work, Antonios advises states and international organizations and has acted as counsel in several high-profile cases before international courts. He has also contributed to numerous publications and serves on editorial boards relevant to his field.
