Biography

Tony Gee is a Professor of PET Radiochemistry at King's College London. He obtained a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Sussex in 1985 and a PhD in Radiopharmaceutical Organic Chemistry from Uppsala University, Sweden, in 1991. Prior to his current role, he directed the PET Chemistry at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals' Clinical PET Centre and contributed significantly to the development of PET imaging for drug discovery while working at GlaxoSmithKline. He is a member of several scientific boards, including the International Society for Radiopharmaceutical Sciences and the Royal Society of Chemistry's Radiopharmacy Group. His research focuses on advancing the fields of imaging sciences, particularly through the integration of engineering, physics, mathematics, and biology to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic methods in medicine. Under his guidance, the research center at King's College is recognized for hosting one of the largest groups in Europe dedicated to medical imaging research.
