Dr. Anupam Gupta

Biography

Anupam Gupta is a Silver Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. His research spans Theoretical Computer Science, with a focus on Algorithms, particularly in uncertain environments, approximation algorithms, and stochastic problems. He has received numerous grants, including from the National Science Foundation, and was honored as an ACM Fellow in 2021. Anupam has organized significant initiatives in the field, such as the Algorithms under Uncertainty program at the Simons Institute in 2016 and the Joint Indo-US Networked Center for Algorithms under Uncertainty. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley in 2000, and he earned his B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1996. Anupam has received accolades such as the Herb Simon Award for Teaching Excellence from Carnegie Mellon University, where he previously taught.
