Biography

Anupam Madhukar heads the Nanostructure Materials and Devices Laboratory at the University of Southern California (USC), known for pioneering work in semiconductor nanoscience and the development of self-organized quantum dots for optoelectronic devices and optical communication. He holds the Kenneth T. Norris Professor Engineering title and has appointments in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Materials Science. He was a founding member of the Center for Photonics and the Center for Electron Microscopy and Microanalysis at USC. He has a comprehensive educational background with a Doctoral Degree from California Institute of Technology and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur and University of Lucknow, respectively. His research focuses on Quantum Photonics and quantum information processing, examining self-organized growth and structural optical studies of III-V semiconductor-based devices. Madhukar has received several awards including the Outstanding Research Achievement award from USC School of Engineering and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He has served on various professional committees and panels, contributing to significant advancements in nanotechnology and sustainable energy.
