Biography

Anupama Sen is the Associate Director of Impact at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, University of Oxford. She plays a key role in advancing the school's mission and strategy to enhance the impact of research on public and private sector policymaking. Anupama has extensive experience in policy engagement and research communication, having previously worked for a decade at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. There, she served as a senior research fellow and managed the electricity research programme while also being the deputy director of the energy transition initiative. Her work has focused on energy decarbonization, where she's engaged with academia, governmental bodies, and industry leaders. Anupama holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from St Xavier’s College, University of Mumbai, an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge. Additionally, she is an Official Fellow in Environmental Change at Reuben College, Oxford, and is a fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society. Anupama teaches MSc Energy Systems and has contributed to a wide array of policy-oriented publications in the field of energy research.
