Biography

Anurug Chakma currently holds the position of Research Fellow at the Migration Hub, School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet) at the Australian National University (ANU). He has previously served as a casual sessional academic at the ANU School of Politics and International Relations, and has contributed to academia by teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, within the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies. Chakma is actively engaged in research consultancy roles, collaborating with various organizations including the Bangladesh Legal Aid Services Trust (BLAST), UNDP-CHTDF, University College London (UCL), and the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) over the past thirteen years. He has published research findings in esteemed journals such as International Peacekeeping, Conflict, Security & Development, and the Journal of Asian African Studies. His research interests cover a wide range of topics including terrorism, civil conflict, peace agreements, human rights, diaspora communities, and computational social science.
