Anushay Malik is a social historian whose research focuses on labor, migration, and anti-colonial movements. Her primary themes include individuals’ aspirations and the political possibilities shaped by historical contexts. Currently, she examines migrant communities, particularly Bengali migrants in Karachi, Pakistan, and the long struggle for citizenship by South Asian migrants in British Columbia, Canada. She co-authored a public history book tracing the history of the South Asian labor movement in British Columbia and is expanding her work to explore the experiences of female farmworkers in rural British Columbia. Anushay's projects inform her teaching and course development in International Studies and Global Asia. She has ventured into public history, co-curating exhibitions that utilize counter-storytelling methods to highlight cross-border narratives of migration and resistance, such as "Kaghazi Kashtiyan (Paper Boats)" at the Indus Valley Art Gallery in Karachi and "Truths Told" at the Burnaby Village Museum.
