Dr. Anwar Haque

Biography

Anwar Haque is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Western University, Canada. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. Dr. Haque is a globally recognized expert with primary research interests focused on 5G networks, IoT, cybersecurity, and AI, emphasizing the development of secure, resilient, autonomous systems. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed research publications and holds multiple patents. Beyond his academic work, Dr. Haque is the founder and CEO of Bamboo Innovations Inc., a tech venture specializing in smart systems solutions. He has received significant awards, including the Faculty of Science Distinguished Research Professorship and the Faculty of Science Excellence in Graduate Student Supervision Award. His leadership experience includes serving as Undergraduate Chair for the Computer Science Department and member of Western’s Senate. He also leads the Western Information & Networking Group (WING) Lab, focusing on pioneering research in network security and autonomous systems. Dr. Haque is recognized for his impactful innovations featured in prominent media outlets, and he actively contributes to advancing cutting-edge technologies through collaborative research grants totalling over $15 million.
