Dr. Anya Brown

Biography

Anya L. Brown is an Assistant Professor at the Coastal Marine Sciences Institute at the University of California, Davis, specializing in evolutionary biology and ecology. Her research focuses on the role of microbes in coral reef ecosystems, investigating how these microorganisms interact with corals and contribute to their health and resilience. Anya received her B.S. from Brown University, followed by an M.S. from California State University, Northridge, and completed her Ph.D. at the University of Georgia. Her recent work includes studies on coral microbiomes and the implications for coral conservation, highlighting the importance of microbial communities in coral health amidst changing environmental conditions. Anya has published various works on these topics, contributing to our understanding of marine ecosystems.
