Dr. Anya Nakhmurina

Biography

Anya Nakhmurina is an Associate Professor at the Yale School of Management, specializing in Accounting. Her research focuses on the information environment of U.S. municipalities, particularly the transparency of financial reporting. Nakhmurina investigates interconnected topics such as the stewardship role of information and municipal disclosures. She is particularly interested in how cities disclose information to understand their decisions related to climate change adaptation and mitigation. In addition to her role at Yale, Nakhmurina is an Affiliate Fellow at the Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business and was a Junior Fellow at the center from 2019 to 2021. She has a PhD from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, obtained in 2019.
