Dr. Anya Sirota

Biography

Anya Sirota is a professor at the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, where she serves as Associate Dean of Academic Initiatives. An accomplished architectural designer, she is also the founding principal of Akoaki. Her work resides at the intersection of architecture and urban design, focusing on aesthetic synthesis, social enterprise, and cultural programming to drive urban transformation. Her ongoing research has garnered international acclaim, with her projects highlighted at premiere venues like the Vitra Design Museum and the Brussels Design Museum. Anya is a recognized leader in socially driven architectural practice and regularly engages in international lectures and panels. Her academic background includes a Master of Architecture from Harvard's Graduate School of Design, where she received the Araldo Cossutta Prize for Design Excellence, and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Culture and Media from Brown University.
