Dr. Anya Topolski

Biography

Anya Topolski is an associate professor at Radboud University Nijmegen specializing in philosophical ethics and political philosophy. She obtained her PhD in Philosophy from KU Leuven in 2008. Her focus areas include political thought from Hannah Arendt, ethics from Emmanuel Levinas, and contemporary Jewish thought. In 2009, she joined an NWO project as a post-doctoral researcher where she explored the application of relationality in military ethics, particularly in light of post-Srebrenica research on responsibility and judgment. Since 2012, Topolski has researched European identity, exclusion, antisemitism, and Islamophobia, funded by FWO – Flanders. At Radboud University since 2015, her current research investigates the intersection of race and religion from a critical philosophical perspective in Europe. Topolski's significant publications include 'Arendt, Levinas Politics Relationality' (Rowman Littlefield, 2015) and 'Judeo-Christian Tradition? A European Perspective' (De Gruyter, 2016). Her recent articles examine critical philosophy concerning race-religion constellations and the complexities of managing ethnic identities in Europe. Her expertise encompasses racism, political philosophy, ethics, and more.
