Biography

April Biccum, born in Canada, received her MA in Critical Theory and Ph.D. in Politics and International Relations from Nottingham University. Additionally, April's research delves into Global Citizenship, integrating theoretical and empirical studies to operationalize this concept within Global Education Governance, involving various elite actors in the international realm. She situates her work within an interdisciplinary framework to consider broader implications in International Relations, Political Communication, International Political Sociology, and Social Movements. Moreover, April is the co-convenor of the Interpretation Method Critique Research Cluster at the Australian National University, which aims to raise the profile of Interpretivist and Critical methodologies in social sciences, specifically focusing on politics and knowledge production. She currently supervises HDR Honours projects in the areas of political mobilization, communication, Global Citizenship, and Global Education Governance, among others.
