Biography

Professor Darzi holds the Paul Hamlyn Chair of Surgery at Imperial College London and is affiliated with the Royal Marsden Hospital Institute of Cancer Research. He was knighted for his services to medicine and surgery in 2002. After leaving central government in 2009, he became the United Kingdom's Global Ambassador for Health and Life Sciences in March 2013, affirming his status as a leading voice in global health policy innovation.
