Dr. Arden Rowell

Biography

Arden Rowell is a Professor at the College of Law at the University of Illinois, specializing in environmental law and frontier regulation. Her scholarly work examines how legal systems confront extreme risks and influence human decision-making regarding uncertain outcomes. Rowell has co-authored notable works including 'Psychology Environmental Law' and guides on both U.S. and EU Environmental Law, contributing over forty peer-reviewed law review articles. She has been recognized for her rigorous analysis of inhalation hazards and has contributed to significant publications such as the Harvard Environmental Law Review and the University of Chicago Law Review. As a Fulbright Specialist, Rowell has been acknowledged for her interdisciplinary approach, bridging law, science, and social sciences. She has also worked as a visiting professor at esteemed institutions such as Duke Law School and Harvard Law School, and completed a federal detail at the National Center for Environmental Economics.
