Professor Dr. Arezoo Ardekani

Biography

Arezoo Ardekani is a Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, where she also serves as the Associate Head for Faculty Affairs. With a background in fluid dynamics and complex flow, she researches soft matter and microfluidics, focusing on both fundamental research and biomedical applications. Dr. Ardekani holds a Ph.D. from the University of California Irvine and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has received numerous accolades, including the University Faculty Scholar Award at Purdue and the Arthur B. Metzner Early Career Award from the Society of Rheology. She is recognized for her mentorship and contributions to engineering, having received the College of Engineering Faculty Excellence Award for Graduate Student Mentorship and the NSF CAREER award. Her work has been widely published and she is a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
