Biography

Professor Glezer is a faculty member in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech, having begun tenure in 1992 and later being named the Woodruff Chair in Thermal Systems in 2002. His prior academic appointment was at the University of Arizona where he held positions as both an assistant and associate professor. His research focuses on the manipulation and control of shear flows for a wide range of applications, including both reacting and non-reacting mixing processes. He is particularly interested in enhancing the aerodynamic performance of airborne and underwater vehicles, developing small-scale combustion-driven power systems, and noise reduction in jet thrust vectoring. His notable projects include creating MEMS-based microgenerators that could replace batteries in portable electronics, and applying robust micromachined jet actuator technology in unmanned aerial vehicles. He also conducts advanced research on thermal management for electronic packaging and heat transfer enhancements in fluid systems. His work is supported by major funding from various organizations, including the Air Force Office of Scientific Research and NASA.
