Biography

Ariane Demeure is an Assistant Professor in French Studies at the University of Warwick. She graduated from the University of Paris Ouest and obtained her Master's degree with Distinction. Before moving to the UK, she gained competitive qualifications to teach in France at both secondary and university levels, specifically the CAPES and the Agrégation. In the UK, Ariane has taught at secondary schools and at Aston University before joining Warwick. In 2019, she established links with Oldyssey, a non-profit organization facilitating intergenerational virtual exchanges between students and French senior citizens in care homes, which received national and international media attention during the pandemic. Ariane also teaches a variety of French language courses at different levels and has taken on several administrative roles within the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, including Year Abroad Director and Senior Tutor. She is involved in Widening Participation outreach, inter-university competitions, and serves on several committees at her institution, demonstrating her commitment to education and student support.
