Dr. Ariane Herrick

Biography

Ariane Herrick is a Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Manchester and an honorary consultant rheumatologist at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. She qualified from the University of Aberdeen and trained in general medicine at the Western Infirmary in Glasgow, focusing on rheumatology in Salford. Since her appointment as an honorary consultant in 1993 and her promotion to Professor of Rheumatology in 2011, her clinical research has primarily focused on Raynaud’s phenomenon and systemic sclerosis-spectrum disorders. Herrick has a specific interest in nailfold capillaroscopy methods for measuring digital vascular structure and function. As a Principal Investigator, she has led numerous clinical trials and studies and collaborates with various organizations, including the UK Systemic Sclerosis Study Group and the Scleroderma Clinical Trials Consortium, where she is a past president. Her memberships extend to several professional bodies, including the British Society for Rheumatology and the American College of Rheumatology, emphasizing her commitment to advancing research and collaboration in the field of rheumatology.
