Biography

Ariane is a doctoral student in the Seismology and Wave Physics group at ETH Zurich. Her research interests are focused on inverse theory and seismic tomography. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences in 2019 and her master's degree in Geophysics in 2021 from the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP). Ariane joined the Seismology and Wave Physics group in 2020, where she works under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Fichtner on seismic Full Waveform Inversion in Greenland. Her master thesis involved Hamiltonian Monte Carlo inversion applied to surface wave dispersion. Her research aims to produce Full Waveform Inversion models in high seismic hazard regions with small scale resolution, predicting earthquake-induced ground motion to assess seismic risk.
