Arianna LaCroix is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences at Purdue University. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Vermont and her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Arizona State University. Dr. LaCroix completed her Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences at Arizona State University in 2019. Before joining Purdue University, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Midwestern University in Arizona. Her research employs a combination of neuropsychological and neuroimaging methodologies, including structural and functional MRI, to investigate language and cognition in individuals with brain injuries such as aphasia, stroke, and traumatic brain injury. The overall goal of her work is to understand how language and cognition interact, with the aim of improving communication abilities and quality of life for individuals with acquired communication disorders. Current projects focus on differences in verbal and non-verbal cognitive abilities in individuals with brain injuries, as well as the relationships between cognition, speech prosody, and sentence comprehension.
