Arianna LaCroix is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences at Purdue University. She completed her bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Vermont and a master’s degree in Communication Sciences Disorders at Arizona State University, where she also earned her Ph.D. in Speech Hearing Sciences in 2019. Prior to joining Purdue University, she was an Assistant Professor at Midwestern University in Arizona. Her research focuses on neuropsychological and neuroimaging methodologies to investigate language and cognition in individuals with brain injuries, such as aphasia, stroke, and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Her overall goal is to understand how language and cognition interact to improve communication abilities and quality of life for individuals with acquired communication disorders. Current projects highlight the differences in verbal and non-verbal cognitive abilities in the context of brain injury, along with the relationship between cognition and speech prosody, as well as sentence comprehension.
