Biography

Ariel Katz is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. He obtained his LL.B. and LL.M. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and completed his S.J.D. at the University of Toronto. His research primarily focuses on economic analysis of competition law, intellectual property law, and related areas such as electronic commerce, pharmaceutical regulation, and international trade. Professor Katz previously served as the Director of the Centre for Innovation Law and Policy and worked as a staff attorney at the Israeli Competition Authority before joining the University of Toronto. In addition to his research, he teaches courses on intellectual property, constitutional law, and cyberlaw, and shares insights on topics relevant to his field through his blog. His teaching interests are reflected in his courses, including Copyright Policy Making and Introduction to Intellectual Property Law.
