Ariel Scotese is the Associate Director of User Services at the D’Angelo Law Library of the University of Chicago Law School, a position she has held since 2020. Prior to her current role, she served as the Access Services Research Librarian at Cornell Law Library and was the Assistant Director of the Cornell Legal Research Clinic as an Adjunct Professor of Law. Before becoming a librarian, she worked as general counsel for a Class III short line railroad, where she advised the client on various matters including federal and state regulatory compliance, tax planning, and civil litigation in the Northern District Court of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Scotese is a member of the Illinois Bar and the New York Bar, and she is an active member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the Chicago Association of Law Libraries. Additionally, she has served as a past president of the Association of Law Libraries Upstate New York (ALLUNY).
