Dr. Arietta Spinou

Biography

Arietta Spinou leads national and international research in allied respiratory health, focusing on precise symptom assessment, non-pharmacological interventions, and improving patient quality of life. She nurtures professional growth in students and collaborators, fostering innovation and empowering healthcare professionals for an enduring impact. Her academic journey is marked by prestigious achievements, including a PhD in Respiratory Medicine from King’s College London and MSc in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy from University College London. With 13 years of experience in clinical settings across Greece, Finland, and the UK, Dr. Spinou is committed to lifelong learning, having completed additional courses at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. Her impactful research focuses on chronic lung conditions and includes developing the Bronchiectasis Health Questionnaire, which has been widely adopted and translated into 15 languages. Furthermore, Dr. Spinou serves in various leadership roles, including chairing the Allied Health Professionals Affinity Group at King’s College London and being part of the British Thoracic Society. She has delivered numerous invited international lectures, and her contributions have garnered recognition with nominations for various awards.
