Dr. Arif Khurshed

Biography

Arif Khurshed is a Professor of Finance with extensive experience in research, teaching, and academic leadership. He graduated from the University of Delhi and completed his PhD at the ICMA Centre, University of Reading. He joined the University of Manchester as a postdoctoral research associate and later took a lectureship in Finance, ultimately being promoted to Professor in 2013. His research interests encompass corporate finance, Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), venture capital, payout policy, trade credit, banking, and private debt innovation. As an author of significant works, including 'Mechanics of Performance in Initial Public Offerings,' Arif is a dedicated PhD supervisor who has guided 20 doctoral students to completion, securing positions at prestigious institutions such as King’s College London and the London School of Economics. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students, employing an engaging approach to business education and has been recognized with multiple teaching awards. In academia, he has served on editorial boards for prominent finance journals and contributed as a member of the International Valuation Standards Council, providing expert consultancy to various financial authorities.
